Cognitive Science at the University of Vienna is represented by interdisciplinary researchers investigating cognitive and neural processes in humans and animals, as well as the fundamentals of perception and behavior.
Until March 2026, the Cognitive Science Community was organized within the Vienna Cognitive Science Hub (Forschungsverbund Kognitionswissenschaft).
From April 2026, the Cognitive Science Faculty Representatives serve as the central contact for all matters related to Cognitive Science within their faculty.

Moritz Grosse-Wentrup
Moritz Grosse-Wentrup is Cognitive Science Faculty Representative at the Faculty of Computer Science.
He is Professor of Neuroinformatics, Head of the Research Group Neuroinformatics, and Study Programme Director of the Middle European Interdisciplinary Joint Master Programme in Cognitive Science (MEi:CogSci).
His work applies computational methods to the study of brain function and cognition.
