The rectorate appoints the head of Vienna CogSciHub and three deputies for each funding period after consultation with the scientific advisory board of the Hub.The head acts as official speaker of Vienna CogSciHub.

He or she represents the Hub in all official discussions with the rectorate including monitoring meetings, invites new members to Vienna CogSciHub and its scientific advisory board and is in charge of all strategic and operative decisions.

The head and three deputy speakers form the leadership team. Each of the speakers facilitates communication among the network members of Vienna CogSciHub and serves in agreement with the head as a liaison to other organizational units and institutions within and outside the University of Vienna.
